Our plans offer global coverage, meaning you are covered anywhere in the world except in your country of permanent residence. You don't need to notify us of your destinations, so you can travel with peace of mind!
However, keep in mind some important exclusions:
- Cruises and maritime transport: We do not offer coverage for incidents that occur on board these modes of transport..
- Conflict zones or areas without medical infrastructure: We do not cover areas declared to be at war or lacking the necessary medical infrastructure.
- Within your home: If you are less than 100 km from your home, it is considered national coverage and travel assistance does not apply.
The deductible is a fixed amount that you pay for each covered medical event. For example, if your deductible is $150, that is the amount you would pay when receiving care.
Which plans have a deductible? Only the INTERNATIONAL CLASSIC LOW COST (for trips of less than 90 days) and WORK AND TRAVEL BASIC (for trips of more than 91 days) plans include a deductible.
¿How does it work?
- If the cost of your care is equal to or less than the deductible: You are responsible for 100% of the cost.
- If the cost of your care exceeds the deductible: You pay the deductible and Assistravel covers the remaining amount.

Pre-existing Conditions:
- ✅ We cover acute emergencies arising from a pre-existing condition up to the limit specified in your policy. This means that if your chronic condition suddenly worsens during your trip, we will be there to help you.
- ❌ We do not cover chronic or ongoing treatments related to pre-existing conditions (e.g., cancer, dialysis).
- ❌ We do not cover sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as HIV or herpes, nor uncomplicated deliveries.
Yes, it is possible! However, we apply a grace period, which is a waiting period before certain services become available.

If you need a refund, please follow these steps:
- Contact us first: Before taking any medical action or incurring any expenses, call us, send us a WhatsApp message, or write to us at operaciones@assistravel.com. It is crucial that we are aware of your situation.
- Gather the necessary documentation: We will ask you for the original invoices for the expenses, along with proof of payment and medical reports related to your care.
- Complete the form: We will send you a link to a specific form that you must complete.
- Deadline: You have up to 30 days after the event to submit your refund request.
Yes, we understand that plans can change!
- Free cancellation: You can cancel your voucher free of charge up to 10 days after purchase, as long as your plan has not yet started. You must go to the Cancellation button and fill in the details.
- Change of dates: You can request a change of dates for your trip up to 24 hours before the start of your coverage.
- Pause your voucher: You can pause your voucher for up to 6 months! You will only have to pay the difference, if any, between the date of purchase and the start of the trip.
- No changes are allowed once your plan has started.
